WHAT IS IT SPECIFICALLY ABOUT?
Fewer cores, greater performance: Single Pair Ethernet revolutionizes the networked factory
Miniaturization – and still more efficiency? Anyone who thinks that can’t work is not yet familiar with Single Pair Ethernet technology (SPE for short). Two twisted copper cores can be used to economically connect continuous communication at the field level (sensor/actuator) using standard Ethernet technology. Data is thus always and everywhere available and forms the basis for many new applications.
But what do these applications look like? What are the advantages of SPE, where does the technology possibly fall short? In the webinar “Single Pair Ethernet – from technology to application”, Ralf Moebus, Head of Product Management Industrial Communication, will not only give an overview of the advantages and features of the technology, but will also demonstrate in a practice-oriented manner where SPE can be used and which application-based advantages result from it. The webinar is a must-have for anyone who wants to get ready for the future of Industrie 4.0.

OUR SPEAKER
Ralf Moebus, Head of Product Management Industrial Communication, U.I. Lapp GmbH
Ralf Moebus has been an expert in the field of industrial communication at LAPP for more than ten years. Starting in product management, he is now responsible for this area – and has been a staunch promoter of single pair Ethernet technology from the beginning. Not least because of this, he is active for LAPP in the SPE partner network and is regularly consulted with challenges around applications and standards on the topic. He is certain about the future of Industrie 4.0: “Without SPE, we would be closing the door to numerous new applications. The technology comes into play exactly where we are still lacking something to ensure end-to-end networking.”
