LAPP

A quarter of a century! How has LAPP developed in Poland?

Matthias Lapp: Since its foundation 2000, LAPP in Poland has prioritized close customer relationships and employee partnership, fostering a reputation for stability and technical expertise in the Polish market. We operate in three locations here in Poland: The Biskupice Podgorne site, concentrates on sales and logistics, supporting sectors like wind and solar energy, food and beverage or machine buildings. The Grudziadz location specializes in harnessing solutions, while the Wroclaw site, set to open in February 2024, serves as a digital hub for our business services.

Which milestones has the company achieved?

Leszek Stępnicki: From the very beginning of our business here in Poland, we have tried to be close to our customers to provide advice and expertise. We started in 2000 when we were not yet members of the EU. Joining the European Union 2004 changed a lot. Borders disappeared and everything became easier. That was the first important moment in our history. The next milestones were our own headquarters in 2014 here in Biskupice Podgorne and the expansion with LAPP Connecto Polska for harnessing solutions in Grudziadz in 2017. And of course, like Matthias already said, the brand-new business center here in Wroclaw city.

Cables and connectivity solutions from LAPP – what does that mean in Poland?

Leszek Stępnicki: LAPP here in Poland is known for its stable and consistent business policy. This enables excellent cooperation with business partners. And we are known for our active market presence and excellent technical knowledge. Of course, we couldn’t do any of this without our highly qualified employees, who all contribute to the success. Our philosophy is to treat our employees as partners. Many of them have been with us since the beginning.

Matthias Lapp: Just like you, Leszek! You were one of our first employees in Dlugoleka 25 years ago, and as a family-run company, we value an appreciative culture, strong customer focus, and a unique global network of LAPP sites with local expertise. Aside from a vast network, LAPP Poland implements the motto ‘think globally and act locally’. This means that innovation that is developed at a group level can quickly benefit customers in Eastern Europe and – in turn – a great, digital-state-of-the-art logistics system here in Biskupice Podgorne is a benefit to LAPP customers all around the world.

What do you think makes Poland so special for LAPP?

Matthias Lapp: Poland is one of the fastest growing countries in the EU and offers corresponding potential that we want to exploit for LAPP. We value the conditions here: qualified, highly motivated specialists, good infrastructure, and the central location here in Europe. And Europe is our key region — alongside markets in France, Italy, and the Czech Republic — Poland is an important pillar for us.

Leszek Stępnicki: And we will celebrate this at our anniversary party on May 19 – looking back on the last 25 years and raising our glasses to our promising future within the LAPP Group! The 350 employees will be in the spotlight, and we celebrate our success as global connectivity experts! 25 years – that’s certainly a reason to celebrate!
